Ki-Rūpe Pāiba Sevā
Srila Narottama dasa Thakura

ki-rūpe pāiba sevā mui durācāra
śrī-guru-vaișņave rati nā haila āmāra

Alas, I am so fallen and wretched that not even a drop of affection for Sri Guru and Vaishnavas comes in my heart. Then how will I get the service of Bhagavan?

aśeșa māyāte mana magana haila
vaișņavete leśa-mātra rati nā janmila

My mind is always absorbed in material pursuits, not allowing me to develop even the slightest affection for the Vaishnavas.

vișaye bhuliyā andha hainu divā-niśi
gale phāsa dite phire māyā se piśācī

Day and night I am bound by the witch of maya with a noose of fruitive desires around my neck. Hence blinded, I uselessly serve materialistic persons.

ihāre kariyā jaya chāďāna nā jāya
sādhu-kŗpā vinā āra nahika upāya

Thus engaged, I pass my life, unable to get free. I see that there is no other remedy than the mercy of the Vaishnavas.

adoșa-daraśi prabho! patita uddhāra
ei-bāra narottame karaha nistāra

Narottama dasa prays, “O venerable Vaishnavas, you never see the faults in others and are renowned as the saviors of the fallen, so please save me this time.”
